“But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” — Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV)
Faith is the foundation of the Christian life. Every promise God has given is received through faith. We are saved by faith, justified by faith, walk by faith, pray in faith, overcome the world by faith, and ultimately please God by faith. It is no wonder that the Bible declares, “The just shall live by faith” (Romans 1:17).
Many people mistakenly believe that faith is simply positive thinking, wishful optimism, or hoping that things will somehow work out. Biblical faith is much more than that. Faith is complete confidence in the character of God, the finished work of Jesus Christ, and the unchanging truth of His Word. Faith is not trying to persuade God to act—it is receiving what God has already provided through His grace.
The Bible tells us exactly where faith comes from: “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17). Genuine faith is not manufactured by human effort; it is produced as we continually hear, read, meditate upon, and obey God’s Word. As God’s promises become established in our hearts, our confidence in Him grows.
Whatever your need may be today—salvation, healing, provision, wisdom, peace, or direction—the answer begins with the Word of God. As you fill your heart with His promises, faith will rise within you to receive what Christ has already purchased for you.
This month, I encourage you to spend time reading and meditating on God’s Word every day. Feed your faith, starve your doubts, and watch your confidence in God grow stronger. Remember, our circumstances may change, but God’s Word never changes. When our faith rests upon His promises, we can face every challenge with confidence, knowing that “He who promised is faithful” (Hebrews 10:23).
Faith begins where the Word of God is believed.
Faith begins where the Will of God is known!
