“That He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.” — Ephesians 5:27 (NKJV)
Jesus Christ is coming back for a purified bride—a holy, consecrated people who are spiritually prepared for His return. Scripture reveals that the Church is not
called merely to salvation, but to sanctification. The Lord is actively preparing His people to be without spot, wrinkle, or blemish.
Purification begins in the heart.
David cried out in Psalm 51:10, “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” The heart is the center of our desires, motives, and affections. Before outward conduct can fully change, inward transformation must take place. Pride, bitterness, lust, fear, compromise, and double-mindedness must be surrendered to God through repentance and the cleansing power of Jesus Christ.
A purified heart is essential because “out of it spring the issues of life” (Proverbs 4:23). God desires wholehearted devotion, not divided allegiance. The Bride of Christ must be pure in heart, fully surrendered, and passionately devoted to her Bridegroom.
Purification also requires the renewing of the mind.
Romans 12:2 declares, “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” In a world filled with deception, corruption, and spiritual compromise, believers must allow the Word of God to cleanse their thinking. Fear, lust, worldly philosophies, and ungodly influences must be replaced with truth, holiness, and spiritual discernment.
A renewed mind is critical in these last days because preparation for Christ’s return requires spiritual sobriety and vigilance. Jesus’ parable of the ten virgins in Matthew 25 reveals that while all appeared to be waiting for the Bridegroom, only the wise were truly prepared because they possessed oil. This oil represents the inward work of the Holy Spirit—genuine intimacy with God, spiritual readiness, and sustaining power.
The foolish virgins had outward form, but lacked inward preparation.
Likewise, many may profess faith outwardly, but true readiness for the rapture requires:
• A purified heart
• A renewed mind
• A life filled with the Holy Spirit
1 John 3:3 states, “Everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.”
The expectation of Christ’s soon return should produce urgency, holiness, and deeper consecration. The Church must awaken, prepare, and remain spiritually watchful.
Jesus is coming for a bride who is:
• Holy
• Pure
• Spirit-filled
• Ready
Now is the time to allow the Lord to purify every area of our lives so that we may be found faithful when He appears.
“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” — Matthew 5:8 (NKJV)
May we live as a purified bride, prepared for the glorious return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
