The resurrection of Jesus Christ is not merely a historical event—it is the very foundation of the believer’s present-day life and power. It is the decisive victory over sin, death, and the grave, and it establishes a new reality for every born-again child of God.
“…declared to be the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead.” – Romans 1:4 (NKJV)
The resurrection is the declaration of divine power. It validated Christ’s identity and demonstrated that no force—natural or spiritual—could withstand the authority of God. That same resurrection power is not distant or symbolic; it is active and operative in the life of the believer today.
“…what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places.” – Ephesians 1:19–20 (NKJV)
Notice that this power is “toward us who believe.” The same power that raised Christ from the dead is now directed toward, and at work within, the believer.
This is not a lesser power—it is the very power of resurrection itself.
Through the resurrection, we are not only forgiven—we are made alive. “…just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.” – Romans 6:4 (NKJV)
The resurrection produces a new life—a transformed nature, new desires, and the ability to walk in righteousness. The believer is no longer bound to the old man but is empowered to live in victory.
Furthermore, resurrection power is not only spiritual—it affects the whole life of the believer.
“But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.” – Romans 8:11 (NKJV)
This same Spirit brings life, strength, and divine enablement even to our physical bodies. It is a present, living power—not reserved for eternity alone, but available now.
The Apostle Paul expresses the pursuit of every believer:
“…that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection…” – Philippians 3:10 (NKJV)
This is not merely knowledge of doctrine, but experiential reality. To know the power of His resurrection is to walk daily in victory, authority, and intimacy with Christ. The Power of Resurrection:
• Confirms who He is
• Lives in every believer
• Produces a new life
• Empowers daily victory
• Sustains and strengthens us
This is the life of the New Testament believer—not striving in human strength, but living by resurrection power.
“But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” – 1 Corinthians 15:57 (NKJV)
Let us walk in that victory—fully alive, fully empowered, and fully aligned with the risen Christ.
