Faith In The Blood Of Jesus

Pastor Corey Erman | July 8, 2020

The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy, I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. (John 10:10)

Satan, the thief, is the life taker, has come to steal, kill, and destroy. Jesus Christ is the life giver, who has come to bring us abundant living in every area—spirit, soul, body, family, and financially. We must clearly understand that there is no goodness in the devil and there is no badness in God!

The devil has only three purposes for our lives:

  1. To steal. He comes to take away every good thing and every blessing that God wants us to have as Christians.
  2. To kill. He comes to take life physically and mentally through sickness, alcohol, drug addiction, violent crime, accidents, etc.
  3. To destroy. He comes to destroy our peace of mind, our homes, and marriages – to destroy us spiritually and take us to Hell.

The good news is that Jesus Christ came to give us:

Absolute Life – Spiritual, Physical, Abundant and Eternal Life.

It cost Jesus His very blood. Scripture defines the life that is available to us through Jesus:

For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul. (Leviticus 17:11)

“The life is in the blood.” This statement is the very bedrock of our faith. It’s the foundation of the New Covenant we have with God.

There is more power in a single drop of the blood of Jesus than in the entire kingdom of Satan. God’s life is released to us through the precious blood of Jesus. Jesus, our great high priest of the New Covenant, fulfilled in detail the picture of the Old Testament high priest in Leviticus 16 sprinkling the blood of the sacrifice 7 times.

Jesus shed His blood seven times providing full redemption:

  1. In the garden of Gethsemane, sweat drops of blood (Luk 22:44)
  2. At the false trial, beaten and struck with rods (Mat 26:63-67)
  3. Violent men pulled out His beard and facial skin (Isa 50:5-6)
  4. Lashed with thirty-nine stripes on His back (Mat 27:26)
  5. Soldiers forced a crown of thorns on His head (Mat 27:29)
  6. Nailed to the cross through His hands and feet (Mat 27:35)
  7. Hanging on the cross, Roman soldiers pierced His side with a spear and every drop of His blood was finally released to give us life in every area (John 19:34)
