Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. (Isaiah 43:19)
As we enter the New Year, we should have high expectations for what God is going to do in our lives. God asks us to walk by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7). He also says that only faith pleases Him (Hebrews 11:6). So then what is faith?
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1)
You may not be able to see with your natural eyes all that God has in store for you in the New Year, but you must walk by faith and trust God for a great year. Faith is simply having a good expectation according to the promises of God and believing that God will do what He said He would do. The Bible is full of wonderful promises for us. They are all given to us by grace as our inheritance in Christ. However, we must have unwavering faith in God for those promises to come to pass. We must claim them by faith and never give up until they come to fulfillment.
Every new year that I go into, I ask God to give me a word, a scripture verse or a promise for that year. That “Living Word” from God becomes the sure foundation upon which I build my life for that year. I set goals inline with God’s direction for that year. I set my goals high, because God’s thoughts and plans are much higher than my own (God’s promises always exceed our natural expectations). What God wants to do in our lives is far greater than anything we could ever ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). Therefore, when you hear from God for the New Year, you will be challenged to live by faith to see a great blessing and increase in your life.
According to Isaiah 55:8-11, the Lord is making great plans and having great thoughts for your future. Just agree with Him and follow Him as your Good Shepherd.
But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from GLORY TO GLORY, just as by the Spirit of the Lord. (2 Corinthians 3:18)
He is about to do A NEW THING in your life. With God, you are to go from GLORY TO GLORY. That means you are supposed to go forward and not backward. His plan for you in the New Year is to take you to a higher realm of His glory — for you to grow and change for the better. You will see increase and growth in your life!
