Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits; who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from destruction; who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, who satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. (Psalm 103:2-5)
Do you want to live in the fullness of what God has provided for you in Jesus Christ? Then you’ll have to do what Psalm 103:2 says: Forget not all of God’s benefits! You see the blessings you don’t know about or the ones you forget about are the blessings you won’t enjoy. If you are not enjoying all the blessings God has for you right now, there are probably two reasons why you aren’t. Either you don’t know about His blessings and benefits, or you’re forgetting to act on God’s Word concerning them. Those are the two main reasons why God’s blessings aren’t manifested in believers’ lives.
Forget Not God’s Forgiveness:
We need to forget not that He forgives all of our iniquities not just a few. Some people live their daily lives dwelling on their past failures, mistakes, and sins. People like this can’t receive all the benefits God has for them, because they’re living in condemnation. The Bible says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9). This is written to Christians, not sinners. When the devil brings back to your memory your past sins, tell him, “Devil! Those past sins have been forgiven and forgotten.” However, unsaved sinners must accept Jesus Christ as their Lord in order to enjoy the benefit of being born-again and forgiven of all their sins.
Forget Not God’s Healing:
Many Christians can’t enjoy the benefit of healing even though it belongs to them as a child of God. They’ve either forgotten about the benefit of healing or they simply don’t know about it. First Peter 2:24 says, “… by whose stripes you were healed.” That’s past tense! You already have it because Jesus took your sickness and disease on the cross 2000 years ago. “He himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses” (Matthew 8:17). When did Jesus take them? On the cross!
Forget Not Your Redemption from Destruction:
Jesus was sent to redeem us from the thief, Satan, who comes to kill, steal and destroy. Jesus came to give us abundant life (John 10:10). God protects us and delivers us from all destruction, ruin, and devastation. Hallelujah!
Forget Not You Are Crowned with Lovingkindness and Tender Mercies:
Many believers have been abused physically, verbally, emotionally and mentally in their past. They have deep wounds and hurts inside from lack of love, rejection and betrayal. The love and mercy of God bring healing, restoration, acceptance and wholeness to such. Remember He will never leave you, nor forsake you!
Forget Not God’s Spiritual Renewals:
One of the wonderful benefits of God is that we do not have to be sick, weak, and tired. We can be renewed! We can be full of life, strength, and vitality. He will satisfy us with long life and protect us. He will refresh us and anoint us with the oil of joy.
